This week I went to the City of Marion Revitalization. I must say that above everything I respect the people in charge of attempting to revive downtown marion.
There are many times I will talk to my friends about what marion used to look like. Our town didn't use to be the ugliest and most crime ridden place in Indiana.
Marion used to be beautiful and very popular. Some of the paintings I see of old town Marion make me long for that time again just to see what it was like. The
event I went to was kind of like a small flea market right by the old Marion mall. If I'm being honest it was pretty lacking but that is only becuase I went to
the saturday morning version instead of the friday night version. I wonder of the Friday night version was way better. Anyway the Marion Revitalization program
is coming along so much better than I could hope for. A lot of people think that Marion is a lost cause. I have no idea which side I’m on. As cool as it would be
to revive Marion it does seem very near impossible. This would have to be the lazarus of revives. I’m very excited for the future and the ideas that the marion
project may come up with. I’ve heard of other businesses that are coming to Marion. There might be restaurants coming to downtown. The are also planning on
fixing up the sidewalks in marion.
